At Next Gen Hoops, we offer a wide range of programs including skill and IQ development training, basketball camps, and clinics. What sets us apart is our focus on the full basketball mind, not just on individual skills. Our coaching philosophy emphasizes the importance of mental development, teamwork, and leadership – key components that define great athletes both during and after their playing careers.

Whether you are a player looking to enhance your skills or a team aiming to achieve your full potential, Next Gen Hoops is committed to guiding you every step of the way.

At Next Gen Hoops, we use basketball as a tool to shape the next generation of leaders and upstanding citizens. Our mission is to not only develop athletes' skills and basketball IQ but also to instill life lessons in commitment, aspiration, perseverance, teamwork, and discipline. We are dedicated to helping young people grow into confident, resilient individuals who are ready to contribute positively to society. For us, it’s more than just basketball—it’s about building character, empowering youth, and fostering the values that will guide them throughout life.

Founder / Director of Next Gen Hoops

Coach G’s love for basketball began at a young age, playing the game and being on the sideline watching his father coach. His passion for the sport led him to start coaching in 9th grade for San Bruno Summer Slam at the San Bruno Rec Center where he quickly found his calling. A leader, often serving as a "coach on the court", Coach G was a 3-year varsity player and 2-year captain. His playing career was cut short by a torn ACL, but his on-court leadership and knowledge of the game led him to want more out of basketball.
After high school, Coach G began studying at UC Berkeley. That is where he became an integral part of the Cal Men's Basketball team as a student-manager. During his time at Cal, Coach G had the opportunity to learn directly from Coach Cuonzo Martin and the coaching staff. This experience not only deepened his understanding of the game but also allowed him to assist in the development of future professional basketball players, including Jaylen Brown, Ivan Rabb, Jordan Mathews, Roger Moute a Bidias, Kameron Rooks, Tyrone Wallace, Jabari Bird, and David Kravish.
After graduating from Cal, Coach G transitioned from learning the game at the college level to teaching and developing players of his own. He began coaching AAU basketball, first with Legacy Hoops and later with Renegades Basketball Club, where he has built a reputation for developing teams into winners. He took over a brand-new Renegades team and a second-year Legacy Hoops team, quickly making both programs competitive and winning tournaments throughout the Bay Area.
In 2022, he joined Capuchino High School as the JV Boys Basketball Coach and Assistant Varsity Coach. Over his time at Cap, Coach G has helped the Boys Varsity team reach the playoffs twice and coached the JV team to tie the most wins in school history with a 17-7 record during the 2024-25 season. His impact on player development is reflected in team improvement, as the 2024-25 JV team improved by 5 wins compared to their freshman season, while the 2025-26 JV team improved by 7 wins from their freshman year—demonstrating his ability to develop players and turn teams into winners.
Coach G founded Next Gen Hoops in 2024. Through Next Gen Hoops, Coach G is dedicated to providing young players with the tools, coaching, and mentorship they need to grow as basketball players and individuals.
